The second and third days of the SSBM Geneva Immersion Week offered participants an inspiring journey through the heart of Swiss business, ethics, and innovation — a true blend of academic learning, leadership insight, and real-world discovery.
Day 2 – Exploring Swiss Business and Global Responsibility
Day two focused on understanding how Switzerland has built its global reputation for excellence in business and social responsibility. The morning began with an insightful lecture on “Business in Switzerland” by Dr. Brian Mayenfisch, who unpacked the unique structure of the Swiss economy, its innovation ecosystem, and what makes the country a leading hub for international enterprise. This was followed by an engaging session with Dr. Mary Mayenfisch-Tobin on Corporate Social Responsibility Strategies, where students explored how responsible leadership and ethical decision-making shape the success and sustainability of modern organizations.
After networking over coffee and lunch, the group had the privilege of visiting the World Trade Organization (WTO), guided by Dr. Olesya Meskina. The visit offered an inside look at global trade mechanisms and Switzerland’s pivotal role in fostering international cooperation — a powerful reminder of how business and diplomacy intersect on the world stage.
Day 3 – Entrepreneurship, Innovation & CERN Exploration
The momentum carried into day three, where the focus shifted toward entrepreneurship, innovation, and discovery. The morning sessions, led by Hulya Kurt, immersed participants in the dynamic world of Entrepreneurship and Startup Strategy. As a passionate mentor and entrepreneur, Hulya inspired students to transform ideas into impact, combining strategic thinking with practical case studies that encouraged creativity, agility, and purpose-driven leadership.
In the afternoon, learning turned into exploration as the group visited CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, once again guided by Dr. Olesya Meskina. There, participants witnessed where science, innovation, and collaboration meet to shape the future — a fitting conclusion to two days filled with curiosity, inspiration, and global perspective.
Together, these experiences reflected the very essence of the SSBM Geneva Immersion Week: a unique opportunity to connect theory with practice, engage with world-class experts, and experience firsthand what makes Switzerland a model of excellence, innovation, and global responsibility.
