At the Swiss School of Business and Management Geneva, we believe in shaping future leaders who are not only business-savvy but also socially and environmentally responsible. One of our proud initiatives includes supporting global efforts to protect elephants, with a particular focus on sanctuaries like the renowned Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in Thailand. We have recently visited the Chang Mai location in the north of Thailand and have decided to support their mission and donate funds.
Their mission has always been to provide as many elephants as possible with the happiness, health, and freedom they truly deserve.
Their team strives daily to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of the elephants they care for, and only by developing a deep bond and mutual trust with each elephant, they are able to offer visitors a memorable elephant interaction experience that is ethical, sustainable, and above all, respectful.
This is the kind of experience Prof. Ivana and I had in their Jungle Sanctuary in Chang Mai.
The Role of Elephant Jungle Sanctuary
Nestled in the lush landscapes of Thailand, the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is a haven for elephants rescued from exploitation in tourism, logging, and other industries. The sanctuary’s mission centers on rehabilitation, conservation, and education, offering a humane alternative for people to interact with elephants responsibly. By providing these magnificent animals with an environment that mimics their natural habitat, the sanctuary ensures their safety and well-being while promoting awareness about the importance of wildlife conservation.
Why Elephants Matter
Elephants are more than just iconic symbols of strength and wisdom; they play a crucial role in maintaining the ecosystems of their habitats. As keystone species, they help shape their environment, making them vital for biodiversity. Sadly, habitat loss, human-wildlife conflict, and poaching have significantly endangered elephant populations.
SSBM’s Commitment to Elephant Conservation
SSBM Geneva recognizes the urgency of protecting these gentle giants. Through our donations and partnerships, we aim to support the Elephant Jungle Sanctuary in:
- Rescue Efforts: Assisting in the relocation and rehabilitation of abused or displaced elephants.
- Community Education: Empowering local communities with knowledge about sustainable coexistence with wildlife especially as SSBM’s mission is to provide worldwide education.
- Conservation Programs: Supporting initiatives to maintain the natural habitats and long-term safety of elephants which fits very well in SSBM’s mission: “We encourage diversity and global connectivity between our students, faculty, and business partners while placing high importance on the benefits that our school can bring to the society as well as the environment”.

SSBM and Elephant Jungle Sanctuary hope to lead by example and contribute to a positive change in the perception of elephants, to witness a future where elephants are not ridden, poached, overworked, or abused and are instead treated with care, love, and respect.
